Gift for Kids - Bible Reading Exploration

Reading the Bible is really, really important because it is the very Word of God.

In his Word, God reveals to us who he is and his wonderful plan of salvation.

God speaks to us in his Word, and he feeds us and grows us in maturity as we feast on it.

At Redeemer, we want to help our children understand the Bible and encourage them to develop the habit of reading it regularly.

With the goal of helping you help your children read the Bible, as a Christmas gift, we will be giving to all our kindergarten through 6th graders the book: Exploring the Bible: A Bible Reading Plan for Kids by David Murray.

As a gift from their church, we will present these books to children during the worship service on December 17th, 24th, and 31st.

About the book:

From the cover: “Exploring theBible leads kids ages 6-12 through the Bible one day at a time over the course of a year, helping them see the overarching story of God’s Word and laying the foundation for a lifetime of discovering truths about God, humanity, and the gospel.”

Get your kids into the habit of consecutive, daily Bible reading. Made up of 52 Expeditions through God’s Word, this reading plan is designed to guide boys and girls on a journey through the whole story of the Bible in a year. Along the way, readers are encouraged in personal prayer and in thoughtful meditation on scripture.

“”uc">An important, but often neglected, part of the education we provide for our children is instruction in the actual contents of the Bible. We give our children math flashcards and grammar workbooks, we enroll them in music lessons and put them on sports teams, but we often don’t know where to begin to teach them what’s in the Bible. Exploring the Bible will get elementary–school–aged children started reading Scripture on their own, giving them a grasp of its overall big picture as they read." - Starr Meade, Author, Training Hearts, Teaching Minds: Family Devotions Based on the Shorter Catechism

“”uc">This Bible reading plan has it all—engaging graphics, kid–sized reading assignments, space for reflection, and helpful commentary. What an exciting endeavor—to help children read (for themselves!) an overview of the Bible in a year! I can’t wait to give away copies of Exploring the Bible to the kids in my life." – Gloria Furman, Pastor’s wife and mother of four; cross-cultural worker; author, Glimpses of GraceTreasuring Christ When Your Hands are Full, and The Pastor’s Wife
